The tomb of the legendary musician Tansen is located at Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, adjacent to the mausoleum of his spiritual mentor, the Sufi saint Sheikh Muhammad Ghaus. Tansen was born in the village of Behat near Gwalior and received formative musical training under the Gwalior musical tradition nurtured by Raja Man Singh Tomar.
