हेलियोडोरस का बेसनगर अभिलेख संदर्भित है-
The Besanagar inscription of Heliodorus is associated with–
भागवत धर्म से संबद्ध प्रथम उपलब्ध प्रस्तर स्मारक विदिशा (बेसनगर) का गरुड़ स्तंभ है। इससे पता चलता है कि तक्षशिला के यवन शासक एंटियालकीड्स का राजदूत हेलियोडोरस ने भागवत धर्म ग्रहण किया तथा इस स्तंभ की स्थापना करवाकर उसकी पूजा की थी। इस पर उत्कीर्ण लेख में हेलियोडोरस को 'भागवत' तथा वासुदेव को 'देवदेवस' अर्थात 'देवताओं का देवता' कहा गया है।
The Garuda Pillar of Vidisha (Besanagar) is the first stone monument related to Bhagavata religion. This shows that the Yavana ambassador of Takshila (Taxila) accepted the Bhagavata religion and worshipped it after its establishment. Heliodorus is stated as ‘Bhagavata’ and Vasudeva is stated as ‘Devadevas’ (‘God of Gods’) in the article inscribed on it.
