खाद्यान्नों का उत्पादन सर्वप्रथम नवपाषाण काल में हुआ। यही वह समय है, जब मनुष्य कृषि कर्म से परिचित हुआ।

Grains were first ever produced in Neolithic Age. It was the time when people were introduced to agriculture. Koldihwa and Mehrgarh were the two Neolithic archaeological sites from where clear pieces of evidence of ricebran and wheat have been found.
