Dr. Sachchidananda Sinha is widely regarded as the architect and builder of modern Bihar. Along with Mahesh Narayan, he launched the influential journal 'The Bihar Times' in 1894 and led an extensive political campaign advocating the separation of Bihar from the Bengal Presidency, culminating in the creation of the separate province of Bihar and Orissa in 1912. He also served as the first (interim) President of the Constituent Assembly on 9 December 1946.
