In May 1934, at Anjuman Islamia Hall in Patna, socialist Congressmen convened the first All India Socialist Conference, where the resolution to form the 'All India Congress Socialist Party' was passed and a drafting committee was appointed. It was formally inaugurated in Bombay in October 1934.
