तात्या टोपे (रामचंद्र पांडुरंग) ने ग्वालियर के पतन के बाद भी नर्मदा घाटी और राजस्थान के जंगलों में अंग्रेजों के विरुद्ध छापामार (गुरिल्ला) युद्ध जारी रखा। अप्रैल 1859 में नरवर के सामंत राजा मानसिंह ने विश्वासघात कर पाडोन (पारोन) के जंगलों में सोते समय तात्या टोपे को अंग्रेजों के हवाले करवा दिया। अंग्रेजों ने शिवपुरी में सैन्य अदालत में मुकदमा चलाकर 18 अप्रैल, 1859 को उन्हें फांसी दे दी।
Tatya Tope sustained protracted guerrilla resistance against British columns in Central India and Rajasthan. In April 1859, his trusted associate Raja Man Singh of Narwar betrayed him while he slept in the Paron forests. He was captured, court-martialled at Shivpuri, and executed by hanging on April 18, 1859.
